The Griffith snooker classic took place in the Ivy Rooms on Saturday 20th October. This the final event of the Griffith tour season saw Annette Newman comes through her group without dropping a frame. In the other group Dave Seales last year’s winner also came through his group without dropping a frame. This set the scene for a good final with both players playing good snooker. With a weekend payout of just over €1,400 among the players from the previous ranking events, this tour for next season is now closed as all places have been filled. We hope to raise the fund to €4,000 for the new season. Now back to the final the first frame was nip and tuck going down to the pink and black, Dave took the pink and needed black for game with both players having chances, eventually Dave potted the black for frame. Frame two Annette got off to a better start leading going down to the colors but Dave fought a hard battle and came out the winner for a second year. Congratulations to both players and well done to Dave on defending the title. Thanks to all the players who supported this tour and we look forward to another bigger event in 2013. Thanks to Marian and staff of the Ivy Rooms for providing excellent playing conditions for this event.
