Dan Carroll recently visited Knockbeg College Carlow who joined Stars Academy Ireland last year by taking two full size snooker tables into the College.  The tables are in constant use each day and the interest among the students is great as they try to qualify to get on the team to represent the College and County at the first School & College National Team Snooker Championships next October.

Cyril Hughes the principal of Knockbeg College welcomed the sport of snooker into the College and is very optimistic about the future of the sport through the School & College Initiative set by Stars Academy Ireland. Cyril maintains that its very important for Schools & Colleges to provide a wide range of sporting facilities if possible to afford those students who may have a flair or hidden talent in a particular sport, the opportunity to explore and develop their talent.

We welcome Knockbeg College as a member College to Stars Academy Ireland an wish them the very best of luck at the Team Championships later this year.
